David’s Sketches

One of the best things about this project was working so closely with such a talented artist. Seeing David’s process and learning from him has been a joy. I can't draw at all, so seeing someone take an idea and bring it to life on paper was so cool.

When we decided to include David’s Sketches, there was no way I was gonna let them hang in this gallery in store-bought frames. So I decided to take on the creation of 14 more frames with just about a month left before our install date.

Luckily, he does everything out of the same sketch book, so all of these are the same size, which allowed me to batch out the frames together. Making all 14 exactly the same at the same time. I like this approach because it will keep the uniformity of the sketches all being the same size and materials. While these frames are the same material and dimension-wise, just like the sketches, each frame is unique as they all have their wood grains and slight color variations.
